Palmist
Palmist is also called palmistry or experts prefer terms such as chirognomy, chirology, or chiromancy from the Greek word cheir, meaning hand. Palmist is a method of predicting the future by reading the marks on person’s palm, but which also includes an analysis of hand shape, fingers and fingernails. History Palm prints have been discovered in a Stone Age cave paintings and although no physical evidence exists to that the origins of palmistry originate with the ancients Egyptians, Chaldeans, Sumerians, or Babylonians. It seems likely that palmist began in the East and spread to the West, perhaps carried by Roman peoples. Indian literature of the Vedic period (c.2000B.C.) in the East, and in the works of Aristotle (384-322 B.C.) in the West appears to be the earliest verifiable references to this method of prediction. Modern Method The techniques used in palm reading have remained unchanged for centuries; although modern practitioners prefer to use four basic hand classifications, believing that the seven traditional hand classifications are too rigid. It is not possible to ascertain the exact nature of your subject’s character and potential have gathered all your clues and can then see how one factor balances or compensates for another, how different elements are reinforced, others cancelled out and so on. Information gathered from a person’s hands cannot be interpreted simply, in the ways of the omens of folk belief, or the flat assertions of newspaper horoscopes, because there are many factors to be taken into account in a subject as broad and complex as palmist.
